A successful cosmetic session starts days before you arrive at 400 South LaSalle Street. We require clients to follow mandatory skin preparation steps, discontinue blood-thinning supplements seven days prior, and complete a formal contraindication questionnaire during intake.

Pre-Appointment Skin Preparation Steps

Actions required prior to your cosmetic session to minimize bruising and skin irritation.

To ensure clean needle passes, optimal skin tolerance, and minimal transient micro-bruising, clients scheduled for cosmetic skincare consultation Chicago sessions must strictly observe our seven-day preparation timeline:

    7 Days Prior: Discontinue Non-Prescription Blood Thinners

    Suspend elective supplements that increase vascular fragility, including high-dose fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic extract, aspirin, and ibuprofen. If you take prescription blood thinners (Coumadin, Eliquis, Plavix), do not discontinue without written authorization from your prescribing physician.

    5 Days Prior: Pause Active Exfoliants and Retinoids

    Halt topical tretinoin, retinol, retinaldehyde, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide products across the intended treatment zone. These compounds thin the stratum corneum and heighten mechanical friction sensitivity during microneedling or peeling.

    48 Hours Prior: Avoid Alcohol and Strenuous Heat

    Refrain from alcohol consumption, hot saunas, and steam rooms. Alcohol dilates superficial capillaries, significantly heightening the incidence of post-injection petechiae or bruising around delicate periorbital and perioral tissues.

    24 Hours Prior: Shaving and Sun Protection

    For laser hair removal appointments, perform a clean close shave of the target anatomical area 24 hours in advance. For all facial procedures, avoid any sunburn or tanning beds; active erythema forces an immediate postponement.

    Day of Visit: Arrive with Clean Bare Skin

    Arrive at 400 South LaSalle Street without heavy foundation, tinted SPF, or waterproof mascara. Although our protocol begins with an antiseptic cleansing rinse, bare skin accelerates your intake evaluation.

Intake Health Screening and Contraindications

Every client completes our mandatory digital intake questionnaire prior to being seated in the procedural suite.

We conduct a thorough 15-minute intake discussion during your first visit to ensure full procedural suitability. We review medical history, surgical records, past cosmetic interventions, and known allergic sensitivities.

Absolute Session Contraindications

Glamorise will decline or postpone appointments under any of the following circumstances:

  • Current pregnancy or active lactation
  • Active oral herpes (cold sore) outbreaks near perioral treatment areas
  • Open dermal lesions, severe active cystic acne, or bacterial impetigo
  • Systemic autoimmune conditions experiencing active flare-ups
  • History of hypertrophic or keloid scarring across facial contours
  • Oral isotretinoin (Accutane) therapy within the past six calendar months
  • Permanent facial dermal implants (silicone or PMMA beads) in the target area

If you have dermatological medical concerns, undiagnosed pigmented lesions, or severe systemic disorders, we require a formal clearance letter from your attending physician before proceeding. We maintain strict fidelity to our safety protocols.

24-Hour Rescheduling and Cancellation Policies

Respecting scheduled suite time allows us to maintain private, unhurried appointments for every client.

Because Glamorise operates as an intimate solo aesthetic suite, your scheduled appointment window is exclusively reserved for you. We do not double-book or overlap client arrival times.
